Procedures
Materials:
- Reading Passages
- Macbook Air
- Pencils
-Self-Evaluation Worksheet
1) Pass out grade level reading passages (one per child).
2) Read the passage silently from beginning to end.
3) Using either QuickTime or Photobooth, record your reading. Using an online timer as a stop watch, record yourself for one minute.
4) Listen to your recording once more. Using the Self-Evaluation Worksheet, grade yourself on your reading. How did you do?
Find the line that you ended your recording. To the right of the line is a set of numbers. Subtract the words that you did not read on the line from the number to the right and you will find your words per minute!
